Inshorts, a leading news app, expanded its reach to Tier 2 and Tier 3 audiences with ‘Public App’ – a dedicated local news platform that delivers the latest city updates through short videos. With over 70 million monthly active users and 100 million installs, it stands as the largest hyper-location based news app. With more than 19,500 dialects and languages in India, vernacular content plays an integral role in purposeful interactions and conveying the message. Public App was created to provide citizens of Bharat a platform to connect and be informed about their community and local authorities through real-time updates in 12 local languages.
This project focuses on the execution of impactful social media campaigns aimed at driving engagement and increasing brand awareness for Public App.
As a graphic designer in their marketing team, I was responsible for designing engaging social media ads that captured attention, effectively communicated the app’s features and benefits, resonated with the audience and drove app downloads contributing to the overall success of our campaigns.
I worked closely with the team lead Tushar Upadhyay, senior marketing associates Palak Garg and Mahak Nuwal, and marketing executives Noopur Somaiya and Priya Mojidra.
Balancing engaging content with quick information, overcoming competition, meeting diverse preferences, maintaining consistency, adapting to platforms, optimizing performance, meeting deadlines, collaborating creatively, and responding to feedback. The main challenge was adapting to capture the attention of second and third-tier audiences while maintaining the app’s core message and adhering to brand guidelines, all within the constraints of the crowded social media landscape.
Conceptualized and crafted ads catering to the distinct tastes of second and third-tier audiences utilizing vibrant colors, crisp typography, and authentic imagery. Continuously refined the designs based on performance analytics, ensuring heightened engagement and increased downloads.
